Registration for CaliExams now open.

The CaliExams Program is an optional program that is designed for performers who wish to focus on their personal skill development and further their calisthenics technique.

Participants attend 4-6 specialist classes to learn a set syllabus of choreography and terminology, before presenting to an examiner for assessment. 

The program has been designed to suit all performers and provides the ability for participants to challenge themselves and strive for continued development and excellence. A range of levels are offered in the Standard stream starting from Foundation 1 to Advanced 2.

As an example, the Foundation 1 level requires participants to learn four short routines to music by heart and learn the correct technique and terminology for up to 17 individual movements. 

There is also an Elite Stream which replaces the previous medals program. Candidate must be 13 years as at 31 December in the year of presenting for an Elite Strem exam.

Eligibility:

The CaliExams program is designed to suit all ages with a guide provided as to the minimum age the performer can be to undertake the exam.

This is a new program that has been developed to replace the old ACF skills program

Pre-requisites:

There will be no pre-requisites required to participate in the CaliExams program. Performers can enter at any exam level based on discussions and recommendations of coaches. CaliExams are not required for solo/duo participation, however are highly recommended for those participating in solos/duos who wish to improve their technique. Each participant who successfully passes their exam will receive a different badge and a crystal, so if you are wanting to collect the set, it is a good idea to start at the first level.

 

Cost

Class fee: $20 per class + transaction fee

• approximately 4-6, 60 minute classes will be offered,
• payment required in advance
• no refunds on missed classes
• if additional classes are required beyond the 4-6 initial classes, these will also be charged at $20 per class + transaction fees

 

Plus Exam fee: $40-$85 + transaction fee (depending on exam level)

• payment required in advance
• refunds only available with a medical certificate

 

For those registering for the Elite Stream, we will contact you to make separate class and invoice arrangements.

 

Class time:

Mondays at the Leawarra studio (exact times TBC depending on numbers, we will notify you of exact times)

It is also expected that participants will practice the routines and individual moments at home using videos that will be provided. 

 

Exam details:

The exam period will run from the 7th November to 13th December. Whilst we are able to submit to CV any unavailable dates, there is no guarantee that all requests will be accommodated. 

Exams run for approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the level and participants are required to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to their allocated time. Participants will present to an examiner in small groups of 2-4 or individually depending on the number of entries. 

Exams are likely to be held either at our studio or at another club studio nearby.

Please note minimum numbers are required for the classes at each level to go ahead. If classes are unable to go ahead, you will be notifed and refunded.
